Beats working: George FM proves its slogan correct, takes to TV following its venture out of Auckland

Electronic and dance music station MediaWorks-owned George FM has released a shiny new TVC in conjunction with its roll out as a national network.

The TVC was made by MediaWorks’ George FM brand manager Angela Wedekind, digital and social specialist Lee Gilmour, junior creative producer Philip Dibley and Rodney Quash.

And it features pretty much what you would expect – dancing, dance music, DJs, young people and beaches.

“The footage was shot at the legendary Spring Break Fiji event held at Mana Island in Fiji every November,” MediaWorks head of brand and marketing Katie Mills says. “This was from the most recent event, which featured George FM DJs Dan Aux and Aroha Harawira, to name a few, with the next event happening 17-22 November 2015.”

Mills says the TVC was in part due to George FM’s roll out as a national network. “ … and we advertise all our music radio brands across the year … The time is ripe for George as New Zealand’s best electronic and dance product and with the roll out we have been receiving exciting and exceptional feedback.”

George FM’s announcers include some of the country’s best DJs she says. “Including Thane Kirby, Kara Rickard, Aroha Harawira and Dan Aux. The format is going from strength-to-strength.”

Mills says there are some other initiatives in the works, and listeners should keep their eyes peeled.

Daily, George FM has just over 93,000 listeners nationwide and growing with the station looking forward to its next results coming out in October, she says.
