The months are obviously getting closer together: the May winners of the ORCA’s were announced last week as The Radio Bureau did a bit of catching up. And the June certificates have also been handed out, with Karl Fleet and Tom Paine from Colenso BBDO taking out the top prize for their V Pocket Rocket Campaign for Frucor. MEC is first cab off the rank in Yahoo!Xtra’s new quarterly Digital Strategy Award, taking the inaugural trophy for its Caltex with Techron online campaign. And, in other digi-news, the Interactive Advertising Bureau is on the hunt for Bolly Award entries and has also secured the services of a couple of digital gurus to discuss the importance of online advertising in the automotive industry. In news that you probably already knew, online intelligence outfit Experian Hitwise has released figures that show Google is the dominant search engine in New Zealand. But, with its recent moves to increase the focus on national search domain identity, the local arm. Google.co.nz, is on the up and is now receiving over 86 per cent of all New Zealand searches. Finally some good news for the beleaguered number crunchers at Telecom.  Yahoo!Xtra, the online joint venture between Yahoo!7 Pty Ltd and Telecom New Zealand Ltd, has announced an after tax profit of $1.37 million for 2009.
