Audi ups BOTAB stakes with fast, shiny incentive

It’s a prerequisite for any bonafide rock god or goddess to drive a cool car. And Audi New Zealand is coming to the party for this Thursday’s Battle of the Ad Bands at the Kings Arms, offering the winning band a brand new Audi A1 Sport Plus to share for a month. “In an industry where competition is truly celebrated, the Battle of the Ad Bands presents potential for extra cachet among the advertising community,” says Audi New Zealand’s relatively fresh head of marketing Fiona Woolley.

Next Top Model’s Sara Tetro and Huffer’s Steve Dunstan, who have been signed up as Audi ambassadors, have offered their take on the new sporty compact car with video reviews featuring its new sponsorship/social media portal www.experienceaudi.co.nz. And video footage of the audience and contestants from the big night will be put up on the website.

“We’re always keen to support a bit of healthy competition and the online cameos will be great to give the industry a little tongue in cheek , and behind the scenes insight to these amateur (and not so amateur) rock gods.”

Let’s just hope the winners don’t invoke the spirits of rock gods past, have too many wines at the winner’s lunch and drive it in to the hotel pool.
