It’s a celebration of creativity where the humble envelope is given a chance to shine. And tomorrow night at Deus ex Machina in Auckland, with Kiwi pop star and t-shirt dealer Dave Gibson on MC duties, the winners of the 2010 Art Of The Envelope Awards will be announced. So without further ado, here are some glamour shots of the stellar finalists who are in the running for both booty and bragging points.
New Zealand Post’s Fiona Woolley says the calibre of this year’s entries was a reflection of the creative talent of the industry and, as always, whittling the entries down to a handful of finalists was an extremely tough job.
This year’s Best in Show (last year it was won by independent entrant Barak Yahav for his impressive ironsmithing) gets to choose from a prize pool worth $5,000 and each of the category winners will be rewarded with the latest Apple gear, vouchers and much more.
DraftFCB’s Tony Clewett and Rob Banks took out the prize for October with the Money Saw for Genesis Energy.
“We needed to demo our reward scheme to builders. We did that simply, and powerfully. What builder wouldn’t want to receive a hand-made paper maché saw? Surely, the talk of the building site that day. New connections increased by 15 percent. Job done!”

Redefine and Redesign (an unrestrained opportunity to produce an artistic or futuristic masterpiece)
