In July last year 2degrees launched its mobile network in New Zealand, utilising funny man Rhys Darby to front its campaign. And it is fair to say the campaign has been successful so far. We managed to sneak a quick moment with 2degrees head of sales and marketing Larrie Moore to ask him a few quick fire questions about the last seven months.

Sell yourself in one sentence:

The world would be a boring place if we all believed in the same things, and thought the same way, seeing the potential for the unusual is my greatest strength.

In one word, describe the last seven months since 2 degree’s launch:

Busy.

In a market previously dominated with the duopoly of Telecom and Vodafone, what have been some of the biggest challenges launching 2degrees?

Not being able to do everything, for everyone, at once.  We are here for the long haul and not having everything on day one has frustrated some.  Our message to them is it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

How did you make 2 degrees stand out from the other two big players?

By offering clear value, and a solid, reliable service.

Once all the launch hype has died down, how do you keep the momentum of 2degrees going?

Staying focused on what the customer wants.

The future of 2degrees is?

We are committed to keeping New Zealanders connected to what they value the most.
