Broadcast programme maker Screentime has rebranded its corporate television arm as Screentime Communications, referencing the fact that its non-broadcast business is providing a growing portion of the company’s turnover.

“The rebranding of our non-broadcast business unit was driven mainly by the fact that the term ‘corporate television’ just doesn’t reflect the full range of communications services we now provide,” says executive producer Steve King. “When I joined Screentime at the start of 2007 we were already producing electronic press kits, providing media training, running a sync-sound studio and helping companies communicate over the web. These days, over 90 percent of the video content we produce is delivered on the web, if not initially, then subsequently.”

The success of its NZ non-broadcast operation saw Screentime Australia launch its own unit last year and the Screentime Communications name provides brand consistency between the two businesses.

Screentime, with a television portfolio that includes Police Ten-7, Marae DIY and Beyond the Darklands, opened its doors in New Zealand in 1997 and has produced a number of award-winning screen productions for broadcast in New Zealand and around the world. In 2001 it merged with one of New Zealand’s oldest and most established corporate television production companies, Communicado, forming Screentime Ltd.
