The official release has been sent and no-one’s particularly surprised with its content: Clemenger Group has appointed Nick Garrett as managing director of Colenso BBDO, beginning 1 March 2010.

Garrett, 35,Nick Garrett joins the agency from BMF Sydney, Australia’s largest Indy agency with more than 200 staff.

Clemenger Group CEO Jim Moser says the recruitment process began six months ago and Garrett was a unanimous choice among the top brass.

“Nick is one of the most highly respected and accomplished leaders in the Australasian market. He has embraced the massive changes in communications today, evidenced by the work he has driven for brands such as Tooheys Extra Dry, Sony Playstation and many others.”

Nick Worthington, Colenso’s ECD says: “There was an instant chemistry with Nick. He’s intense and very serious about great work and clearly on the same path as Colenso in his belief that some of the best and most progressive work is coming out of this region. I think he’ll be a great fit and I know we’ll do some great work and I’m pretty damn sure we’ll have a lot of fun doing it.”
