cardThose festive folk at New Zealand Post’s targeted communications department have launched a new service for businesses and individuals hoping to send a few personalised cards over Christmas.

Send a Card is an online service that offers the opportunity to create your own Chrissy cards and let New Zealand Post print and post them and is the first of a number of applications being developed that aim to bring together traditional mail and digital services.
Users can upload their own photos or create a card by selecting from the library of New Zealand images. Users then add their own text and it’s printed on high-quality, satin-finished heavyweight card.

The service lets users post each card to 50 different addresses. Prices start at $2.99 for a postcard and $3.99 for a greeting card when sending within New Zealand (postage included).

And while you’re thinking about doing good deeds for others, our friends at The Media Counsel are once again asking people hand over excess stock to be distributed to those less fortunate this Christmas.
Every year, The Media Counsel asks media owners and its clients to send into the agency any stock (including soon to expire stock that is still in good condition) or any old merchandising that is not required.”

Whether it be balloons, food, stationery, pens, baseball caps or clocks, anything will be appreciated.

donations-1This year the chosen charity is the Salvation Army and the cut off date for deliveries is Friday, 18 December. If you would like any goods collected, please contact Jacqui Swan, jswan@mediacounsel.co.nz or phone 3601077.

Any products the Salvation Army cannot use will be distributed to both children and adults within the Auckland and Manukau hospitals who are spending Christmas there without the support of their families.
