Print, digital, gone: Fairfax to discontinue Unlimited magazine

Sinead Boucher, the group executive editor of Fairfax, has confirmed that the last digital edition of Unlimited magazine will be released in December this year.

Unlimited has been a digital-only magazine since April last year,” says Boucher. “It was originally designed in a print format – and the online version didn’t seem to deliver a genuine web-experience for our digital users. As a result, we’re changing our approach.  We’ll continue to offer a rich range of great innovation and entrepreneurial stories – and host this content on stuff.co.nz.”

Despite discontinuing the publication, Boucher says that there will be no redundancies, with both Unlimited staff members moving to new positions within Fairfax.

Former editor, Maria Slade is taking on the role of Auckland issues editor, effective 8 December, and Emma Rawson is taking on the role of content development editor at Fairfax magazines.

“This change is part of our long-term digital strategy, focusing on reaching our audience within the Stuff environment,” says Boucher.
