Saving lives one song at a time

Did you know that since 2011, traffic accidents have increased by 300% in China? A big reason for this is that pedestrians listening to music are drowning out ambient noise and getting run over. Thankfully Saatchi & Saatchi and VICE have come up with a clever little solution.

Mutesic is a smartphone app design to keep music listeners safe on the go. The app access your current location through the phone’s GPS and turns music down when you are crossing the road or coming up to a busy intersection. As soon as the person is out of harms way the volume goes back up to where it was.

There is even an option for when you are riding your bike. clever huh?
