And the winner of our Semi-Permanent competition is …

And the winner is…

Congratulations to the winner of our Semi-Permanent tickets competition AD, whose winning entry is below. AD's designer-infuriating piece uses the delightful art of kerning manipulation to expose his/her deeper theme, a truly witty take on the post-modernist logo movement. He or she received extra points for showing us that the comments section can take images, which we didn't know before. We'll be getting in touch with you shortly.

Special commendations go to Matt for "Putting Hot Air in the City of Sails" and Sasha Tsevina for "Resistance is futile", perhaps you can shmooze AD for the spare ticket.

It's still not too late to get your tickets to Semi-Permanent, just head here to come along and listen to some amazing speakers.

——–

Semi-Permanent is back in Auckland for its ninth year, bringing together designers, artists, film makers and mould breakers of all sorts – for a menagerie of creative thinking.

This year's speakers include (more info on the Semi-Permanent website):

Annie Sperling – production designer and artist (US)

Askew – street artist (NZ)

Niklas Roy – artist and engineer (Germany)

Nick Worthington – creative director at Colenso (NZ)

Mark Bashore – head of creative at Digital Kitchen (US)

Once again the event will be held at the ASB Theatre in Aotea Square, with tickets for the 31 May – 1 June event available here.

We've got two tickets to give away to one lucky (and creative) winner. All you need to do to enter is come up with a rememberable slogan for the new Auckland City Unitary Plan everyone's talking about and leave it in the comments section below (please use your email so we can get in touch with you if you win). We'll pick the best (i.e the funniest) as our winner on 20 May.

For our beloved Wellingtonian readers wanting a taste of Semi-Permanent but not able to make it to Auckland, fear not – there is a Semi-Permanent headed your way in October.

Fine print: You must have a New Zealand address to enter. The tickets are non-transferrable and not for resale.
