Mobile in the morning

54 percent of Kiwi online shoppers now own a smartphone, according to PwC. And thanks to the search engines in their pockets they are likely to know things about your market before you do. This should put the mobile customer experience near the top of the to-do list for many companies and the MA’s September Brainy Breakfast, which, for the first time in several years will also be held in Wellington, focuses on five key mobile experience trends that will help get you up with the play.

  1. Taking Responsibility for the Mobile Experience: Mobile needs to be become a core competency within your business and your agencies.
  2. Responsive Design: “Mobile first” is the mantra, with desktop following behind. It’s said that there is the same divide between web and mobile as seen between web and print.
  3. HTML5: People are looking for a “write once, run anywhere” development model. Has HTML5 moved front and centre?
  4. BYOD: Allowing employees to bring their own devices to work means that organisations need to make certain their solutions can be offered on a wide range of devices.
  5. Rethink How Employees Engage with Customers: Many organisations are looking more at how their employees are interacting with customers. How can employees serve the customer best where anywhere they are?
