StopPress provides essential industry news and intelligence delivered to your inbox twice a week—for free. and the website is updated daily. Informative and interactive, StopPress also offers readers a forum for commentary and opinion pieces on industry trends.
Readers
Launched in September 2009, StopPress already has over 9,000 unique visitors, 59,500 page impressions, and 5,663 newsletter subscribers. Readers are made up of NZ Marketing subscribers, key advertising and media agencies, media owners and NZ Marketing association corporate members. Each recipient, having opted-in to receive the newsletters, is actively engaged in the content, ensuring greater cut-through for advertisers.
Advertisers
Advertisers in StopPress reach readers in both a branding and direct-response environment. The frequency of the newsletters offers brand and recruitment advertisers a timely mechanism to get messages to market. Advertisers can include click-through functions and links in their advertising, directing business to their websites or email inboxes. Most important, advertisers can track the success of their online campaign with weekly statistic reports.

Each StopPress job ad will be presented on the newsletter and the website homepage as two lines:
Rates
Rates are per week covering two newsletters (tuesday and Friday) and a month on the StopPress website.
Jobs can be removed within 24 hours (or faster if possible) at the advertiser’s request.
Submission
Jobs must be emailed to us by the end of play on thursday the week preceding publication. StopPress will provide a Microsoft Word template containing the following fields:

On his recent visit to New Zealand, Welsh crooner Tom Jones stopped by at the official launch for the countdown to Earth Hour, held at at The Langham Hotel in Auckland (no undie throwing was reported). Who it’s for: The New Zealand Transport Agency, by Clemenger BBDO Wellington and PRODIGY director Matt Palmer
Why we like it: It’s like real life, only backwards. Strangely, messing with accepted chronology and going for the good old film it in reverse approach always seems to be remarkably captivating (maybe it’s that scary, ominous sound of noise in reverse that accompanies the visuals). There’s also just one line of dialogue: ‘If you drink then drive, you’re a bloody criminal’. Simple, visual and effective.
And while the new NZ Pure spot by Barnes Catmur and Friends isn’t in reverse, it makes up for it by featuring Bulgarian backpackers and the beautiful Karekare falls.
This little number for Montana sauvignon blanc marks the first time a Kiwi wine brand has featured on Aussie telly. The global campaign will include broadcasts in the UK in April and it will also appear online.
Last week we posted a story announcing the five finalists in Tourism New Zealand’s ‘Your Big Break‘ competition, in which budding film makers from around the world were asked to submit a three minute video that best captures New Zealand’s youthfulness.
The five finalist comprise of an Argentinian, two Americans, and two Kiwis.
We thought we’d showcase one of the Kiwi finalists. This video shows what happens when a zealous young boy befriends a frosty bearded man consuming a frosty soft serve cone. But why this particular video out of the five? Well, we thought you might appreciate seeing what it looks like when God himself, does a ‘bomb’ off a cliff.
