Germans do their own version of Gangnam Style

Rather than pelting consumers with a series of special deals in the typical infomercial style often employed in supermarket advertisements, German-based Edeka has instead taken a weird approach that both Adweek and Slate have compared to Gangnam Style.

The highlight of the video is the inspired performance of the protagonist Friedrich Liechtenstein, who engages in an encyclopedic range of insane behaviour without smiling once. This stoic performance when combined with his bizarre dance moves and a random collection of locations is wrong on so many levels, and, yet, by the end of the video, one can’t help but think that it was pretty cool.
