Who’s it for: Vodafone by Colenso BBDO and Flying Fish
Why we like it: Place this firmly in the ‘how’d they do that?’ category. Colenso BBDO and Flying Fish’s Wade Shotter have joined forces to create a TVC that’s intended to start a conversation about the joy of newness and, of course, showcase Vodafone’s innovations for the home, mobile or business (for all those hankering for a glimpse of how it all came together, the making of will be released soon). Vodafone, like most big telcos, has always championed its new technology, new products and new services, and while some *ahem, 2degrees* might say this reliance on new technology in its marketing was an attempt to pull the wool over consumer’s eyes and keep prices high, telcos are in the business of cool. And this TVC fits the bill.
The mobile spot was directed by Helena Brooks.
Tammy Davis fronts a campaign for a company called Iwi Kireme (a subsidiary of the quite entertaining Next Level Maori, apparently) that hopes to collect “our finest genetical little wiggly guys in order to create a better race of Aotearoians mingled with magical elements”.
